Hey guys, my phone is stuck in "android is upgrading. optimizing application 1 of 1" and all i can do is 1. apply sdcard/update.zip 2. reboot system now ( does not work coz it brings me back to optimizing apps ) 3. apply update from external storage 4. wipe data / factory reset 5. wipe cache partition 6. apply update from cache. First, please understand that the android “optimizing apps” process is completely normal, and occurs in order for your device to rebuild the dalvik-art runtime environment after an update, factory data reset, or other modification to the android os.. Earlier android os used to run on dalvik runtime which means apps used to compile at the time of execution. but now, android has switched to art with lollipop version. it means all the apps will be compiled beforehand making them launch faster. so "optimizing the apps" basically means android is compiling all the apps..
